Exterior painting
Siding, trim, porches and railings
Pittsburgh houses sit on hills, with steep steps, tall fronts and wood that stays damp. Access comes first, then prep.
Brick rowhouses with wood trim, frame houses with porches, and three-story fronts on slopes. We plan the ladders and scaffold at the walk-through and put it in the estimate.

Floors, ceilings, rails and steps; cleaned, repaired and primed.
Brick and masonry
Wash and let dry; paint only where you ask us to.
Doors and windows
Sand, caulk and paint the frames, sash and doors.
Houses before 1978
Paint disturbed in older homes falls under EPA's rule. See the questions below.
Season
April to October, with the weather in charge
Paint needs dry surfaces and mild air. We book exteriors by the forecast, not the calendar, and move the days if it turns.
- 01
Spring
Wash and prep once the wood dries. Book early; April to June fills first.
- 02
Summer
Full coats and long days. Hot afternoon sun means we follow the shade around the house.
- 03
Fall
A last window in September and October before the damp settles in.
Questions
Exterior painting
How do you reach a three-story front?
With extension ladders tied off, or scaffold with rails and toe boards where the ground is steep. The estimate says which.
Do you power wash?
We wash with care, then let the wood dry fully before we paint.
My house was built before 1978.
EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting rule applies to paid work that disturbs paint in homes built before 1978. We ask the year first; the firm number is in the footer.
How long does it last?
It depends on the prep, the exposure and the paint. Terms, limits and exclusions are in your written warranty.
